 Can i sue DHL for loss of item? I ordered an expensive item (around £250) to be delivered by DHL, I was not around for delivery so they left the item in my refuse bin on the street in-front on my property. Needles to say the item was either stolen or emptied during garbage collection. After contacting DHL Multiple times they have said as the item was technically delivered its not their responsibility. Sorry but I think your story is not the full truth! I cannot believe DHL would leave a a parcel in a refuse bin! If they had left it they would have left a note saying where it was (which you would have kept so you could prove the driver was stupid!) and you would have a reasonable claim against them. I use DHL, UPS, Fedex, etc and they will not leave things unless it is signed for (they will leave with neighbours for example which gives them a signature) or you leave instructions to somewhere safe to leave. |
